B&M Waste Services bring brake testing in-house thanks to Totalkare
Waste management specialists B&M Waste Services is set to benefit from considerable time and cost savings following the introduction of a Totalkare brake testing solution at its Wirral head office . The family-owned business, which employs over 200 people, was previously outsourcing the brake testing of their 30-storng fleet of vehicles to a designated test lane.
Recognising the considerable cost and time impact to the firm, the management team decided to implement a new solution that enables all of testing to be conducted at its workshop on Dock Road South.
It selected long-term supplier Totalkare to install a mobile brake tester with bi-directional rollers, a product that can test up to 20,000kg per axle and is controlled by a handheld tablet that means tests can be carried out from the driver’s seat of the vehicle. In addition, no civils work is required, making installation simple and straightforward.
“Bringing brake testing in-house is already saving us a significant amount of time and we estimate this investment will have offset the cost of outsourcing within three years,” said Andy Eames of B&M Waste Services.
“We were impressed with the build quality of the brake tester and simplicity of the testing process.”
George Georgiou, Area Sales Manager for Totalkare, concluded: “We have been supporting B&M Waste Services through the provision of vehicle lifting equipment for more than 15 years.
“Developing our product range to provide more solutions means we could work with the customer to install our mobile brake tester. This is a robust, flexible solution that will not only save the customer money, but will importantly free up valuable time to help drive improved workshop efficiency.”
