Newcastle property developer invests nearly £7m into new community
A North East property developer is investing more than £6.7m into the local area to fund schools, road improvements, a bus service, a sports hub and local healthcare services.
The investment, from Bellway, is part of the planning agreement for the new homes it is building at Callerton Park.
The first families have now moved into their homes at the development, with a total of 15 houses now occupied, and a further 17 sold off-plan and awaiting completion.
The Newcastle-based property developer, is building a range of two, three and four-bedroom homes at Callerton Rise, which is part of Callerton Park, a series of new neighbourhoods set to provide 3,000 new homes to the west of the city.
Chris Lawson, head of sales for Bellway North East, said: “Building is going well on this attractive development which is only five miles from Newcastle city centre.
“We’re finding that visitors are pleasantly surprised that they can get a new three-bedroom home here for as little as £194,995, which with Help to Buy means a deposit of just £9,750.
“That’s putting these homes within reach of many local people.
“There’s also a choice of homes under the £300k stamp duty threshold for first-time buyers, making stepping onto the property ladder even more achievable.”
