Gaming audio specialist levels up with Yorkshire HQ expansion and £1m investment

An audio development company which specialises in the gaming industry has expanded its Yorkshire headquarters.

PitStop Productions has taken an additional 3,000 sq ft space at its base in Capitol Park in Barnsley in order to support its ongoing expansion.

The firm, which provides sound, voice, music and animation for video games, is set to invest up to £1m in the new space, with plans to create new studio space as well as offices and meeting rooms.

Backed by the business support arm of Barnsley Council, Enterprising Barnsley, the expansion will also see the creation of new jobs.

PitStop Productions founder and managing director, John Sanderson, commented: “The intention of our expansion is to increase our editorial capacity to handle the growing amount of exciting material we are being asked to create at our mocap studios in Croydon and across our international network of studios.

“We plan to invest up to one million pounds over the next three years in state-of-the-art editing facilities; and to recruit additional graduate-level sound designers and editors.

“The new meeting rooms we create will also mean we can now welcome our clients from all over the world to our company head office in Barnsley.”
