£260m Gateshead Quay regeneration gathers momentum with public consultation
Further details of the multi-million pound proposals to redevelop Gateshead Quays have been unveiled as a public consultation is announced.
The £260m proposals for the site, located between the BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art and the Sage Gateshead, include an arena, conference centre, hotels, cafes, bars restaurants, and shops under the proposed plans.
Ask Real Estate and PATRIZIA UK, who are leading the development in partnership with Gateshead Council, are now seeking the views of the public in a consultation next week.

The 12,500 seat arena is central to the proposed plans, which also include a conference and exhibition Centre featuring a hall with a stage.
A dual branded 3/4 star hotel will connect to the exhibition centre, providing over 300 beds and leisure amenities including a rooftop bar.
Following stakeholder involvement, the developers are keen to get the views of the local community at the consultation next Thursday (February 27).
