London barista full of beans with new branch openings

A London barista is opening three new branches in the capital as part of its ongoing expansion.

Artisan coffee specialist The Gentlemen Baristas has just opened its tenth branch, based in Hammersmith.

It has now announced that it will be opening two further branches before the summer.

The first of these, a Mayfair venue, will open in March, with a Victoria branch set to launch in May.

The coffee shop was founded in 2014 by Ed Parkes, who was previously a journalist and actor, and Henry Ayer, who has had more than 20 years’ experience in the coffee industry.

The company names each coffee after types of gentlemen’s hats, such as the ‘Stovepipe’, the ‘Bowler’ and the ‘Pretender’.

As well as offering its products in its coffee houses, The Gentlement Baristas also sells its coffees online.

The company describes itself as not only a coffee shop, but “a meeting point and thinking space for London’s modern-day visionaries.”

Founder of The Gentlemen Baristas, Ed Parkes, commented: “Since we launched in 2014 we’ve had such a wonderful response to what we do.

“Our growth has been quick, but our dedication to great coffee and brilliant service has never changed.

“People have really embraced our style of ‘well-mannered coffee’ and we’re looking forward to an exciting couple of years with new openings in different parts of London.”

The new openings will increase the company’s workforce to 130.
