15 jobs created as Screwfix moves in to Yorkshire site
A national DIY retailer has created 15 new jobs by moving into a manufacturing site in Yorkshire.
Screwfix has let a 7,400 sq ft area of the former Copper Dragon Brewery site in Skipton on a 10 year lease from Turner Developments.
The new site, on the Snaygill Industrial Estate, creates 15 jobs in North Yorkshire.
James Turner of Turner Developments commented: “We understand that Screwfix has been looking for a trade counter outlet in Skipton for some time and we’re delighted that we’ve been able to help the company achieve a longstanding aim.
“By taking this prominent frontage unit, we believe it is occupying the best located property on the Snaygill estate and in agreeing a 10 year lease, the company is demonstrating a long term commitment to the town.”
Turner has also let 10,000 sq ft to machinery supplier P.V. Dobson and Sons.
Andrew Dobson, of P.V. Dobson, said: “We’ve been in Skipton since 2004 and we’ve been looking for somewhere which would let us grow whilst, at the same time, allowing us to stay in the town.
“We’ve outgrown the building we’re presently occupying so this new unit with its additional space will allow us to push the business forward.”
