Electric car firm set to launch first North East dealership at Tyneside car retail complex
An electric car specialist is set to open its first dealership in the North East with its new Tyneside signing.
The unnamed electric car dealership has signed a five-year lease at the Vroom car retail park in North Shields, which is owned by Northumberland Estates.
The bespoke facility, which is anticipated to open in April, will provide 9,600 sq ft of showroom and workshop space as well as 120 car pitch spaces.
The 8.2 acre Vroom site is already home to brands such as Cartec Motor Company and Carsupermarket.com (recently rebranded from Motordepot).
Michael O’Driscoll, senior asset manager at Northumberland Estates, commented: “We are very excited to have secured the latest addition to Vroom and are now looking for dealerships for the final 120-car and 60-car pitches.
“Vroom has the capacity for over 750 cars on site and we have the ability to expand on a 13-acre plot to the south.
“Due to traffic congestion at Silverlink and the higher rental values of dealerships, Vroom offers a more visible and cost-effective alternative.”
