Local housebuilder donates £1,000 per month to charities across the region
Local housebuilder, Barratt Developments Yorkshire East, which includes the Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes brands, supported 12 charities in 2019 - donating £12,000 to support causes close to the hearts of its team members as part of its ongoing Community Fund scheme.
During 2019, a different charity each month benefited from the Community Fund scheme, highlighting the housebuilder’s dedication to supporting the communities in which it builds. The money raised as part of the scheme, which launched in 2019, is in addition to £73,000 raised last year for the housebuilder’s charity of the year, the UK Sepsis Trust.
Since January 2019, Barratt Developments has donated to 12 deserving causes, including Great Ormond Street Hospital, Her Breast Friend, Prostate Cancer UK, Hob Moor Oaks Academy, Wellspring Therapy and Training, Dove House Hospice, Osgodby Village Institute Community Association, Bereaved Children Support York, Wigginton Grasshoppers FC, Yorkshire Air Ambulance, the Hull branch of The Royal British Legion and SASH.
Yorkshire East’s first donation of £1,000 was given to Great Ormond Street Hospital in support of Senior Site Manager, Ben Waines’ son, Henry, who was finally bought home after some 440 days in the hospital.
Daniel Smith, Managing Director of Barratt Developments Yorkshire East, commented: “We are always looking for ways to support the communities in which we build, so we’re thrilled to have been able to donate £1,000 to each of these worthy charities and organisations with our Community Fund scheme throughout 2019. We’re now looking forward to working closely with the local communities across East Yorkshire to offer support to 12 more charities in 2020.”
