Third London restaurant opens for former pop-up shop stall owner
The owners of two London restaurants are opening a new venue in Peckham.
Larry’s, which will open in March, is independently owned by Nicholas Balfe, Mark Gurney and Matt Bushnell, who also own Salon and Levan.
Larry’s will be next door to another of the owners’ venues, Levan.
The owners said that the pair of restaurants were named after musician and DJ Larry Levan.
The first of the team’s branches, Salon, was founded by Nicholas Balfe in 2012 as a pop-up above a cheese shop in Brixton Market, before becoming a permanent fixture in 2013.
The team then opened Levan in November 2019. Larry’s will open on March 19 this year.
Nicholas commented: “Larry’s is somewhere we’d expect Larry Levan to go to after playing one of his sets”,
“We’ve cherry-picked everything we love about eating in New York, and combined them into the kind of place we would want in our neighbourhood.”
Mark added: “It’s a naughty little brother: relaxed and informal.
“It’s the perfect spot for any occasion – a quick lunch, a glass of something natural and a bite to eat, or a leisurely dinner with friends.”
