Midlands-based consulting engineer expands team with new hire

East Midlands-based consulting engineer Howard Ward Associates (HWA) has announced the appointment of Matt Koren to its senior team.

Matt, who was previously at HWA for two years as a structural engineer, has re-joined the team in the role of senior engineer.

From its head office in Nottingham, HWA delivers construction engineering consultancy services across the country in a range of sectors, including education, healthcare, emergency services, commercial and residential.

Bringing more than seven years of engineering experience with him, Matt holds a master’s degree in engineering from the University of Nottingham and is now working towards chartered membership of the Institution of Structural Engineers.

In his new position, Matt’s responsibilities will include acting as an internal lead on the company’s projects across various sectors, while developing design solutions to meet clients’ needs.

Matt said: “I’m very pleased to have re-joined the team at HWA. I was attracted back by the exciting projects in the pipeline and the strong working relationships I had previously built with my colleagues here.

“I am looking forward to the opportunity to deploy the knowledge and experience I gained elsewhere and apply them to new challenges at HWA.”

Dan Bailey, director at HWA, said: “It is wonderful to welcome Matt back to the team. His talent and skill will help us to continue collaborating with clients to provide simple solutions to complex situations with an excellent service. Matt’s experience in leading projects and working with graduate and student engineers will be a great asset to the team and we look forward to supporting him as he works towards chartered status.”
