Former Fibbers nightclub to be transformed under new plans
A planning application for a new office scheme has been submitted to the City of York Council.
York-based developer North Star has proposed a full redevelopment of the former Fibbers nightclub on Toft Green.
Under the proposed plans, the former Bierkeller and gentleman’s club site will be transformed into a 16,500 sq ft office building.
The site would also feature a 3,500 sq ft garden terrace next to the Grade I listed Micklegate House to the rear of the site.
A spokesperson for North Star commented: “This development will create much needed new offices, supports the Council’s aspiration to attract high quality jobs to the city, and help tackle the chronic lack of grade A office space in the City Centre.
“It will add to the renaissance that has taken place in this area over recent years.”
