Yorkshire construction company starts work on £2.3m business centre
A Yorkshire construction company has started work on the newest phase of a £2.3m business centre project.
Harris CM has reported that work has started on the fifth phase of the Business Village, in collaboration Barnsley Business & Innovation Centre (BBIC).
The project, which has been designed to augment the 98 existing units at the site, is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund and Northern Powerhouse.
Jason Adlam, CEO at Harris CM, said: “We’re looking forward to working on The Business Village with BBIC, which is a new client for us and it’s also a great opportunity to work with several highly reputable local businesses including AAD Architects, project managers and surveyors Edge Property Solutions and structural engineering company, Collins Hall Green.
“This impressive project will also further raise the profile of Harris CM in Barnsley, following our success on phase two of the Digital Media Centre, and comes at a time when the town is benefitting from significant investment, including the £180m Glass Works development, which makes it a very exciting period for Barnsley.”
Adrian Waite, CEO at the BBIC, added: “Since 1988, the BBIC has assisted over 500 businesses with their growth aspirations with a positive benefit to the Barnsley economy.
“We have been experiencing a high level of demand for our space in recent years, and have recorded the highest levels of occupancy in our history.
“This latest development will enable us to continue to meet this demand and provide a diverse portfolio of office and commercial space to ensure that Barnsley’s wider growth aspirations can be achieved by attracting and retaining successful businesses.”
