Food waste app cooking on gas with six figure investment from London firm
A London tech investment firm has announced a six figure investment into an app tackling food waste.
QVentures, which focuses on investing in pre-seed UK tech companies, has announced its investment into start-up app Kitche.
Kitche is a social impact company aiming to reduce food waste and save customers money.
The app categorises products and offers users food reminders automatically to ensure they don’t forget them or let them go to waste.
Users can import all products from their food shopping receipt, and the app provides recipe ideas based on the products.
QVentures managing partner, Robert Walsh, said: “It’s fantastic to see innovative technology companies such as Kitche taking action towards creating a more sustainable food industry.
“We are proud to join Kitche on this journey.”
Kitche founder, Alex Vlassopulos, added: “We created Kitche after a conversation with friends in the park about real-life problems with home food waste.
“We are excited to take Kitche to the next phase with the help of the QVentures investment.”
