HR and PR in tandem: Citation appoints Smoking Gun in new partnership
Health and safety, employment law, and HR consultancy Citation has appointed Smoking Gun to manage its media relations and strategic campaigns to raise brand awareness among SMEs, and educate both employers and employees on the best legal and HR workplace practices.
The agency was appointed and launched its educational trade and consumer media and business communications in the winter months, which is typically the busiest period for the job market.
Smoking Gun, which scooped two global awards for excellence in measurement and evaluation at the AMEC Awards last year, will handle ongoing media relations and strategic campaigns as part of the newly-retained account, helping to position the brand as an authoritative voice on upcoming key, industry transforming topics such as the Good Work Plan.
Speaking about the appointment, Citation’s marketing director, Kristian Johnson, said: “Health and safety, employment law, and HR are all legal practices integral to any business, regardless of size, and it is important that we convey best industry practice in relation to all of these fields.
“Smoking Gun has a reputation for delivering work that has a genuine impact to both consumer and trade audiences, and we are pleased to work with them on a retained basis.”
Smoking Gun’s managing director, Rick Guttridge, continued: “We welcome Citation to our roster of clients at an exciting period of growth for the agency. Our wealth of experience and expertise in the human resources market in particular, combined with Citation’s ambitious growth plans, creates the perfect platform for us to deliver results that make a genuine business impact.
“It’s an honour to be working with a business like Citation, and be trusted to help firmly establish the brand presence in what is indeed a highly competitive sector.”
