Medico-legal consultancy firm expands into Orbit's Oakfield House in Macclesfield

Collaboras Legal has moved its expanding team into Oakfield House on Tytherington Business Village, Macclesfield’s leading business park.

The consultancy provides specialist support services to clinical negligence and personal injury departments throughout the UK, including screening, medical records pagination and medical reporting services. Clients include leading clinical negligence firms like Fieldfisher, Irwin Mitchell and JMW Solicitors.

Changes in the rules governing the recovery of costs in clinical negligence and personal injury cases has put increasing pressure on firms to reduce overheads. This is where skilled, outsourced providers like Collaboras can assist.

Managing Partner Jan Thompson explained: “Our clients choose how best to work with us, either instructing us on a flexible ad hoc basis, which helps with the peaks and troughs of their workload, or to use us more regularly to provide ongoing medico-legal services in their complex cases.

“We enable busy clinical negligence teams to be more flexible and efficient thus increasing their profitability.”

The company employs a multi-disciplinary team of experienced lawyers, doctors, midwives and nurses and has enjoyed a sustained period of growth since 2010.

Jan Thompson continued: “The move into Oakfield House was the right time for us. We have experienced a steady increase in work in recent years and needed to find suitable premises to accommodate our current workforce and prepare for expansion in the future.”

Her team are now settled into Oakfield House, occupying 2,185 square feet on the first floor of the impressive two-storey property, which is based off the Silk Road, just two miles from Macclesfield town centre. It is an established mixed-use business and residential community in 43 acres of mature parkland.
