Yorkshire salon launches online platform to help beauty industry
A Yorkshire salon owner has launched an online appointments platform to assist businesses that may suffer due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Leeds beauty salon owner, Abigail Fletcher, is behind the Eleventh Hour Beauty online platform, which helps hair and beauty businesses fill empty slots and customers find last-minute appointments.
While all salons are currently closed and freelancers unable to work, Eleventh Hour Beauty is encouraging owners and self-employed hairdressers, beauty therapists and nail technicians to sign up to the website ready for when they reopen and start working again.
The company says that over £1.2m is lost in the hair industry alone in missed appointments each year.
Founder of the platform, Abigail Fletcher, commented: “Whilst we are all going through this hugely difficult time we didn’t want to postpone the launch of Eleventh Hour Beauty – in fact we think it’s more vital than ever that we are all prepared for when the time comes to go back to work.
“Profits and businesses have already taken a huge hit and the last thing we need is further damage from no shows once businesses are operating again.
“I’ve launched #StandWithSalons with Olivia to ensure that we keep promoting our industry to the public and they will be ready to come back when we are.”
Salons and freelancers interested in joining Eleventh Hour Beauty are being offered an 11-week free trial, to start whenever they wish once they are open/working again.
