Darlington engineering firm expands global reach with Gulf of Mexico contract
A North East-based engineering design and consultancy firm has secured a contract for a new transatlantic project.
Darlington-based company Ardmore Craig has been awarded a deal to carry out design and verification activities for a scheme in the Gulf of Mexico.
Ardmore Craig specialises in engineering services for sectors such as marine, offshore and utility.
The contract, which has been awarded by an unnamed client, will include transportation and lifting analysis, primary and secondary steel work sizing and verification, finite element analysis of the individual mechanical components in operational and survival conditions and a global analysis of the equipment.
It is expected that the work on the project will be complete by Q2 of this year, and follows on from previous scopes for the same client in 2019.
Ardmore Craig director, Andy Stevenson, commented: “The timing of this couldn’t be better with the current COVID-19 crisis and lowest oil price in years affecting businesses around the globe.
He added: “We are grateful to our client for their continued confidence in our team’s ability to deliver.”
