Abriso NV continues to invest in Jiffy

North West based protective packaging business, Jiffy Packaging, is continuing to see investment in its Cheshire factory in Winsford following the company’s acquisition by Abriso NV last year.

Eddisbury MP, Edward Timpson CBE visited Jiffy’s factory earlier this month where he viewed the plastic extruder installed last year following a multi-million pound investment by Abriso.

Jiffy Packaging was acquired by the Belgian protective packaging and insultation products company last year. During his visit, Mr Timpson heard about the future investment plans for the business.

Speaking about this, Richard Gregg, Jiffy’s managing director said, “Abriso has significant investment plans for our Cheshire factory and we expect to introduce the next phase of investment later this year.”

The company, which makes its Jiffy Padded Bags at the site, is seeing renewed interest in its most iconic product as customers look for a more sustainable and fully recyclable mailer product. Jiffy Padded Bags are FSC certified and contains a minimum of 60% recycled product making them one of the UK’s “greenest “ mailer products.

During the MP’s visit he saw how Jiffy recycles both paper and plastic back into new products and how Jiffy is taking great steps to minimise any environmental impact by increasing its recycling and reducing its energy usage.

As well as a range of mailers and bubble wrap, Jiffy also manufactures a range of Polyethylene foam products at the site.
