Engineering company Statiflo flies the flag as Northern Powerhouse export champion
Engineering company Statiflo has been recognised for its international trading success by being named as an Export Champion for the Northern Powerhouse region.
The Department for International Trade has selected Statiflo for its 2020 programme following the company’s continued strong export growth.
Statiflo, which has its headquarters in Macclesfield, Cheshire, and subsidiaries in the US and Germany, is a world leader in the design and distribution of motionless mixing technology, including static mixers, gas dispersion systems and other process equipment.
It supplies the water and wastewater treatment industries, and the oil and gas, manufacturing, petrochemical, food, pharmaceutical, pulp and paper sectors.
The company currently exports to more than 80 countries and is growing its network of business partners, who distribute its products and provide advice and support to customers. The latest addition to its network is the Doha Petroleum Construction Co in Qatar.
Export Champions are selected for their approach to growing the UK economy through exporting and their commitment to helping other businesses to do the same by providing peer-to-peer support and advice.
Paul Stowers, DIT’s head of region for the north west, said: “Our Export Champions all display excellence in global ambition, and each is well-placed to help local businesses explore their own exporting journey.
“It’s great to have Statiflo on board as a 2020 Export Champion as the company is a shining example, with exports making up over 60 per cent of its turnover.
“Any business looking to enter new markets, or start exporting for the first time, should get in touch with their local DIT international trade adviser, where an introduction can be made to Statiflo or our other Export Champions to find out how exporting could help them reach their full growth potential.”
Statiflo managing director Gareth Fry said: “Exports help businesses to expand while reducing their reliance on one market or geographical area.
“I am extremely proud to have been involved in export sales for my entire career. It has broadened my sales experience and has enabled me to see and learn about many new cultures.
“Statiflo has been successfully exporting ever since its inception, and the company’s achievements are proof of the benefits.
“Our team has many years’ experience of international trade and I am delighted that we can now help others to start their own export journeys and boost UK business.”
