Bark.com has reported that its operations are growing in Australia, New Zealand and Singapore, one month after expansion to those areas.

London tech company sees "exponential" growth overseas

A London services marketplace has announced that it has seen “exponential” growth in three new global markets.

Bark.com, which acts as a connection between businesses and consumers, has reported that its operations are growing in Australia, New Zealand and Singapore, one month after expansion to those areas.

The business doubled its turnover to £20m in 2019 and has said that it is continuing a 100 per cent growth rate year on year.

In March 2020 the business launched an office in Australia has said that it is “already seeing greater success through volume of buyer and seller engagement, despite an uncertain climate”.

By the third week of trading, Australia had outperformed previous new country launches by 104 per cent.

The company commented: “Bark.com is the largest and fastest growing services marketplace, connecting consumers and businesses with the right professional for their project in over 1,000 unique categories.

“The gig economy continues to be a huge influence in the market, with Gartner revealing that 40 per cent of CEOs are planning on outsourcing roles and responsibilities to freelancers in the contingent workforce, resulting in an opportunity for remote services to live online and demand for Bark.com to bring these services to consumers and businesses across the globe.”
