South Tyneside security and facilities firm expands with emergency and temporary contracts
Security and facilities specialists, TTS FM, have launched three COVID-19 service extensions, with new emergency and temporary contract wins across the UK, supporting key and frontline workers, including NHS last responders.
Demand from within the NHS and private sector has seen the firm, which is headquartered at South Shields Business Works, extend its security, decontamination and cleaning services to include COVID-19 specific activities and increase its deployed headcount by 25 per cent through emergency and temporary contracts.
It has also focused on reacting to and supplying emergency PPE requirements, securing Crown Commercial Service Supplier status for COVID-19 emergency supply of PPE, cleaning and security services and creating a dedicated team within its facilities division to receive, process and deliver PPE to new clients including two NHS hospital trusts and a large local authority contract in the North East.
In addition to an increase in emergency contracts for private sector clients requiring mobile patrolling to cover site closures, the business is also providing extra staff to carry out two meter social distance marshalling services for clients in food production, telecoms and insurance clients in Malton, Sunderland, Leeds, Wakefield, London, Manchester and Cambridge. TTS FM is also providing security services to the NHS at temporary mortuary facilities in the North East.
TTS FM Board Director Steve Yellowley said: “Security services can take many different forms. We are proud to be supplying and supporting the NHS, including our last responders where we are delivering a range of services including securing the site, controlling access and egress, providing a very essential key worker deployment during these difficult and challenging times.
“South Tyneside Council has been extremely supportive during this time, providing us with additional space at our South Shields Business Works centre headquarters. This has enabled us to reach the market faster and secure new contracts as it provides us with a well-connected, secure, and easily accessible base from which to receive and store our COVID 19 PPE products. These are then labelled and distributed to our customers by TTS FM staff.”
TTS FM has seen a 25 per cent increase in its deployed headcount through emergency and temporary contracts. The expansion has also seen the firm able to bring back a furloughed permanent member of the team who is now dedicated to providing full-time sales support in the burgeoning PPE supply area of the business.
