Insulation firm expands regional footprint with new Wakefield warehouse space
A family-run insulation specialist has expanded its operations within the Yorkshire region with a new warehouse space.
Insulation and drylining distributor Markovitz has secured a lease on Unit 2 at Freeway Park in Castleford in Wakefield as part of its ongoing growth.
Established in 1935, the family-run firm employs more than 250 staff, serving customers across Yorkshire, the North West and the Midlands.
In a deal supported by property specialist CBRE, Markovitz has leased the Castleford warehouse unit from owner Pullans on a 5-year term.
Mike Davies-Key, regional director, Markovitz commented: “We’re very pleased to have secured a fantastic modern warehouse in a prime location for distribution.
“We’ve been looking in the area for some time and can’t wait to be trading in June. Whilst these are uncertain times, we continue to expand the business in new geographical areas.”
Sophie Angus, associate director of CBRE’s industrial team added: “Securing this deal with Markovitz demonstrates a positive sign of occupier commitment to growth and business expansion despite the current climate.
“The unit was let immediately following the vacation of the previous tenant, limiting any void period for our client and shows the strength and resilience of the industrial sector.
“The mid box industrial market remains positive across the region with a good level of activity in the face of challenging times.”
