TwoDadsUK appoint PR start-up The Lowedown
LGBTQ and fertility bloggers TwoDadsUK have appointed The Lowedown to launch London’s latest family planning event, ‘The Modern Family Show’ – exclusively for the LGBTQ+ community.
Headed up by Emma Holgate-Lowe, The Lowedown is tasked with driving awareness and supporting ticket sales for the event and managing the press office.
The boutique event will explore the physical and emotional possibilities of becoming a parent in the LGBTQ+ community. Attendees can expect medical advice and experience led seminars on surrogacy, IVF, sperm or egg donation, as well as trans parenting and fertility preservation. The all-day event will also host talks on the opportunities within in co-parenting, fostering, adoption or solo parenting.
Emma Holgate-Lowe, from The Lowedown, said: “There has never been a greater need for an inclusive LGBTQ+ event for family creation and we can’t wait to tell the media about it. This project gives us an opportunity to tell some truly inspiring stories, we are very proud to have been brought on board.”
Michael Johnson-Ellis, who makes up one half of TwoDads.UK, said: “We’re delighted to be working with The Lowdown, this was the first step for TwoDads.U.K and The Modern Family Show needing the services of a PR agency, and as a small business it was a big step.
“However after meeting Emma and hearing how aligned she was to us, it was possibly the easiest decisions and it’s certainly one of the most exciting stages in our growth.”
The Lowedown will collaborate with Broadcast Revolution to launch the event across print, online and broadcast mainstream press.
Josh Wheeler, from Broadcast Revolution, said: “Members of the LGBTQI community can play a pivotal role in the welfare and livelihood of young people within the care system and beyond. We’re incredibly proud to be supporting this event and encouraging many to open up to the possibility of parenting.”
Based in Didsbury, South Manchester, The Lowedown launched in January and specialises in unique storytelling, press office media relations and media training. Current clients include SEVEN BRO7HERS Brewing Co.
Emma Holgate-Lowe is a former showbusiness journalist for the Daily Mail and a news and features reporter for Masons, South West News Service. Since transitioning into PR, Emma held the position of media specialist for Kellogg’s UK and Ireland in its MediaCityUK office.
