Chapel Waters work progresses through pandemic
THE Coronavirus pandemic has failed to stop work on a multi-million pound residential development in the village of Rhodesia, between Sheffield and Worksop.
And South Yorkshire developers BIG City Co have now confirmed that the show home for the long-awaited Chapel Waters project will be opening in July.
The previously undeveloped 10 acre greenfield site located off the A57 in the village of Rhodesia, between Sheffield and Worksop, is BIG City Co’s second site, with 111 new homes, including 55 bungalows and 56 family homes.
The project offers a series of one, two and three bed single-level homes catering for down sizers, all very close to the Chesterfield Canal.
The development also includes a series of two, three and four bedroom family homes complete with public open space and a new sustainable urban drainage system, including a Duck Pond and bird hide!
The design driven soft contemporary development echoes the Bassetlaw style of pan tiled roofs blended with brick, stone and render to create a truly unique new community.
The scheme, funded by ASG Money, is being delivered by Broadfield Construct and designed by Architects CODA Studios - sales are via BIG City’s own internal sales team.
BIG City Co was founded by David Cross, Chairman of CODA Studios, Stewart Davies and Anthony Cundall of Barnsley energy specialist A Shade Greener - which is providing vital funding - and financial expert Ian Hart of ASG Money.
This is BIG City’s second development, following the Jacques Orchard development of 31 bungalows in the Derbyshire community of South Normanton.
BIG City aims specifically to fill the ‘missing-middle’ of the housing market by delivering starter homes, bungalows and urban regeneration.
David Cross commented: “Despite months of uncertainty in the construction industry, we are delighted to be able to say that Chapel Waters is progressing pretty much on schedule and our show home will be opening in July, just four weeks behind our planned launch date.
“At the same time, the first 14 properties on the site will be ready for our buyers. These range from two bed starter homes to four bed executive homes and two bed bungalows.
“Later phases will include more house types across the portfolio to appeal to an even wider range of buyer.
“We have one bed bungalows for the entry level buyer up to three bed luxury bungalows overlooking the Duck Pond with a series of two bed bungalows and more townhouses across the site.
“Early enquiries have proven strong with a database of first-time and last-time buyers alongside families already contacting us for our development.”
