Regional Cybercrime Centre Announces Trusted Partners

The North East Business Resilience Centre (NEBRC) has announced the first of the organisation’s Trusted Partners to be: InfoSec Governance Ltd; DigitalXRAID; NGS (UK) Ltd; Waterstons Ltd; and TecSec Services Ltd, offering a range of cyber security services to NEBRC members.

Trusted Partners are nationally recognised Certification Bodies approved by IASME, the national certifying body appointed by the Government to oversee Cyber Essentials Basic and Plus assessments on behalf of the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC). Certification Bodies meet stringent checks and standards, giving necessary reassurance to end users who need to appoint such specialist agencies within this unregulated market.

The NEBRC, working in conjunction with Trusted Partners, has been established to support continuous improvement within cyber resilience across all sectors within the North East region, working in conjunction with a national group.

Each NEBRC Trusted Partner brings with them significant understanding, experience and credibility from the arena, and will work as a network model to support the Centre, collectively seeking change, both locally and nationally, in pursuit of a more cyber-secure UK for all.

Trusted Partner InfoSec Governance is an information security company specialising in reducing cyber related threats against businesses through offering Cyber Essentials, penetration testing and security consultancy services.

DigitalXRAID, a multi-award-winning cyber security company, focuses on market leading security services around advanced threat detection and response; vulnerability management; information security; penetration testing and security consultancy.

Alongside support and managed services Trusted Partner NGS provides security consultancy including Virtual CISO, Cyber Risk Profiling and Security Posture services.

TecSec deliver a sophisticated level of IT support services, cyber security, risk management and disaster recovery to businesses and charities both small and large nationwide.

With Trusted Partner Waterstons Ltd, also a NEBRC Advisory Group member, a full business and IT consultancy providing strategic advice in the areas of cyber and business resilience, with specialists in information security management, such as ISO 27001; data protection; user training; risk management; vulnerability scanning; business continuity and technical consulting.

Commenting on the appointments, the director of the NEBRC Supt. Rebecca Chapman said: “We are delighted to announce our first Trusted Partners. The NEBRC has been established to provide a pro-active, preventive approach to tackle the increasing issue of cybercrime. Working alongside our accredited partners we are able to provide the understanding, support and solutions that businesses require, and we now have a list of companies that we feel comfortable referring to our members should they require their services.”

The NEBRC is not-for-profit collaboration project between businesses; Northumbria and Sheffield Hallam Universities; and seven police forces in North East England, funded by both private and public sector partners. The seven police forces involved in the collaboration include Northumbria, Cleveland, Durham, North Yorkshire, Humberside, West Yorkshire, and South Yorkshire.

The NEBRC forms part of a business/cyber resilience centre network which is being developed by Business Resilience International Management (BRIM). Other existing centres in the network include the Scottish Resilience Centre (SBRC), the Cyber Resilience Centre for Greater Manchester (CRCGM) and the East Midlands Cyber Resilience Centre (EMCRC). BRIM is currently working to establish the West Midlands Cyber Resilience Centre and the South Wales Cyber Resilience Centre.

There are a wide range of membership levels available, both free core membership and paid membership opportunities, enabling businesses to benefit from the unique level of guidance and expertise. Under the Curious Frank division, there are also a range of business/cyber resilience services available, delivered by a group of innovative and talented ethical hackers from Sheffield Hallam and Northumbria Universities.
