Air France to resume routes from Newcastle Airport
Air France has announced it is set to resume its routes from Newcastle Airport tomorrow (June 16).
This week, the airline will begin gradually resuming operations from the airport to assist with essential travel and repatriation.
Air France will initially relaunch its Newcastle to Paris route twice a week, before increasing to a daily service from July 6.
Benedicte Duval, Air France general manager for UK & Ireland, commented: “As borders reopen and travel restrictions begin to ease, safety is a prerequisite for Air France as we gradually resume travel.
“After this challenging period, we are delighted to be able to welcome our North East based customers back onboard.”
Leon McQuaid, head of aviation development for Newcastle Airport, added, “Connectivity is extremely important to the economy of the North East. We are very pleased to see Air France returning to the region to provide this vital connection.
“The safety of our staff and passengers is our number one priority, by working closely with our airlines and business partners we have implemented a Ten Point Plan to ensure the terminal is a safe environment for all.
“We look forward to welcoming passengers back to the airport over the coming weeks and months.”
