Barratt Homes Yorkshire West raises over £20,000 for children’s cancer charity, Candlelighters

Local housebuilder, Barratt Developments Yorkshire West, has announced it has raised an incredible £24,210 for Children’s cancer charity, Candlelighters, over the past year. Candlelighters has been Barratt Developments Yorkshire West’s charity of choice since July 2018 with the housebuilder still supporting its cause today.

Over the course of the year, Barratt has hosted and taken part in multiple activities to support the charity. One of which was a charity golf day last summer which raised £13,000 for Candlelighters. Other activity included raffles, award sponsorships at the Candlelighters annual awards event and donations around Christmas time.

Speaking on the donations, Amy Harrison, Senior Corporate Partnerships Executive at Candlelighters said: “We are delighted to have worked with Barratt Developments Yorkshire West for nearly 2 years. Their support has meant so much to us and their different fundraising ideas have been fantastic. We really rely on the support of the business community and want to thank Barratt Developments Yorkshire West for their continued support and amazing fundraising!”

In September of last year, Barratt Developments Yorkshire West Land Director, David Coe, ran the Great North Run raising over £2000 for the charity. Speaking on his involvement in the fundraising, he commented:

“We’re always keen to support charities and organisations that are dedicated to improving the lives of local people and Candlelighters is the perfect example. The work they do to provide support for families dealing with childhood cancer is vital and something we’re delighted to support where we can.”
