PLP Bessemer Park, Phase 2, Sheffield

London architecture firm submits planning application for new Yorkshire distribution units

An architecture firm has today submitted a planning application for the next phase of a Yorkshire development.

PLP has submitted a reserved matters planning application for approximately 600,000 sq ft of logistics space for the next phase of development at PLP Bessemer Park, Sheffield.

The planning submission will enable PLP to deliver 4 distribution units which will be delivered for occupation in the second half of 2021.

Phase two follows the first phase which was 100 per cent pre-let before practical completion in Q4 2019.

Hugh Chesterton, development director at PLP, commented: “PLP Bessemer Park is a prime example of the company’s ambition to create nationally significant logistics parks.

“Following the success of pre-letting the entire first phase before practical completion, PLP looks forward to working with Sheffield City Council to deliver further investment and job creation through the development of phase two.”

Rebecca Schofield, partner at Knight Frank added: “It is great to see PLP’s continued confidence in the market.

“The planning application follows the success of phase one which saw both units let prior to completion.

“The next phase has been designed to provide high quality units which will appeal to both the local and regional market as well as national motorway corridor requirements.

“We look forward to working on the next phase.”
