North East’s Clarity Informatics Extends Prestigious Accreditation with NICE
North East-based healthcare technology provider, Clarity Informatics, are celebrating being awarded a renewal of their highly respected accreditation relating to Clinical Knowledge Summaries for the National Institute for Health Care and Care Excellence (NICE).
The primary care clinical content and IT software solutions provider is one of a handful of businesses which works with NICE, having done so for over 20 years. The partnership creates high quality, trusted, evidence-based, clinical information and guidance for GPs, GP registrars, nurses, paramedics, and pharmacists to help them diagnose and treat a wide range of illnesses and conditions.
Clarity’s dedicated team of authors, led by former GP Dr Gerry Morrow also recently worked on the first Clinical Knowledge Summary dedicated to the COVID-19 outbreak, which provides clear information and support to professionals faced with a suspected Coronavirus infection.
Securing NICE accreditation until 2025, augments Clarity’s ability to continue to author their trusted Clinical Knowledge Summaries, used by the majority of primary care professionals across the UK
The NICE Accreditation Programme helps users to recognise organisations that uphold extremely high standards in the guidance that they produce, ensuring trust in the quality and reliability of the information provided. This prestigious accreditation is currently held by only 57 organisations, with Clarity Informatics one of only a handful of commercial businesses to hold the NICE accreditation.
Dr Morrow said: “It has always been a great honour to work with NICE and author their Clinical Knowledge Summaries for as long as we have and being granted the accreditation for another 5 years is the greatest testament to all the hard work of our team.
“It is so important, now more than ever that those in the primary care sector are provided with quality information to help manage and support their patients, our team are dedicated to providing them with the most reliable and trusted information and having the NICE accreditation will help us continue to do that.”
NICE’s Clinical Knowledge Summaries contain over 370 topics, and 1200 clinical presentations or patient scenarios. The clinical content is continually monitored and reviewed with new topics introduced each year.
In addition to authoring clinical guidance, Clarity Informatics also offers e-learning solutions, appraisal software and practice management and best practice solutions to help create and support an efficient, resilient health care system.
