North Yorkshire cathedral city set for £1.5m boost with new housing scheme
A new scheme is set to invest over a million pounds in a North Yorkshire city alongside its latest development.
Harron Homes plans to inject more than £1.5m into Ripon’s education and infrastructure in support of its Bishop’s Glade development.
Comprising a range of three, four and five-bedroom properties, Bishop’s Glade will offer new family housing in the cathedral city.
The firm has pledged £509k to improve educational standards on a local scale across a three year period, as well as £500k to enhance public transportation over the course of four years and a further £80k to ease the flow of traffic at junctions.
Additional investments include £50k towards the upkeep of cemeteries, £59k for outdoor sports facilities, £60k for a school travel plan, and £65k on vouchers for sustainable travel.
Noel Adams, managing director at Harron Homes Yorkshire, commented: “It is our pleasure to be providing these contributions for the benefit of people living in and around Ripon.
“Bishop’s Glade is helping to bring more and more facilities to the area, and will in particular assist in supporting local education and highways.”
