Derelict Beverley site to be transformed into retail development

A derelict site in East Riding of Yorkshire is set to be redeveloped to create a new retail destination under new plans.

Developer Lovel Capital Projects, part of Lovel Property Holdings Ltd, is in final discussions with a range of potential operators for a new scheme in Beverley.

Situated Killingwoldgraves Lane on the outskirts of the historic market town, the site is the former home of wallpaper and fabric pattern books manufacturer Teckno Developments.

Under new plans, the space will be converted into a petrol station, convenience store and four business units ranging 1,600 sq ft to 11,500 sq ft.

Philip Lovel, managing director of Lovel Capital Projects Ltd, commented: “People have tried and failed to secure planning permission for residential development of the site in the past and we felt this was a great opportunity to deliver a high quality roadside development.

“It will meet the need for a petrol station to serve the surrounding villages and motorists using the A1079 and it will provide business units with the potential to bring new jobs to the area.”
