Octavian IT banishes the blues for accountancy firm with Azure move
A growing chartered accountancy practice has been able to roll-out its expansion plans after working with Nottinghamshire-based managed IT services specialist Octavian IT.
Octavian IT has been working with Crowthers Chartered Accountants to transfer its IT infrastructure from an existing hosted supplier to Microsoft Azure as part of a major upgrade.
Senior partner, Jonathan Crowther, said: “The choice of our IT consultants was initially very difficult because we had received very poor service from the previous provider where their hosted environment was simply not resilient enough for our growing needs, as we had grown to around 35 online users.
“Whilst we had a good relationship with another local IT company who wanted the work, we eventually decided to move to Octavian which turned out to be an excellent decision. Ben Solomon and his team have provided us with incredibly attentive service and I cannot fault their determination to overcome every problem that has been thrown at them. While with any major upgrade there are inevitably issues to resolve, I have been delighted with the excellent service provided to us over the last six months.”
Octavian IT recently revealed plans to expand itself, and is currently looking to acquire a counterpart business after its busiest-ever six months since it was established by Ben Solomon four years ago.
Ben said: “Working with Crowthers has been a pleasure. Our team migrated them from a legacy, slow, insecure and buggy cloud server solution to Microsoft Azure for many users across four UK locations.
The move has provided much more flexibility in the solution and cost. We now manage the company’s entire IT estate of servers, computers and all services and we’re looking forward to a long and fruitful relationship.
Jonathan added: “I have personally dealt with out IT consultants for the last 30 years and so I have a reasonable understanding of the technical aspects of the servers. Because of this Ben has kept me fully briefed on the issues and solutions. I have also been given admin rights to monitor and update programs when needed which our previous provider flatly refused to do.
“The support provided is superb and is just like having our own in-house IT team. Ben and his team have even attended a team training day so that they are personally known to our entire team.
“Thanks to Octavian, our IT systems are now much more robust and streamlined so that we can move forward with confidence to further planned expansion of our services.”
Octavian is on the look-out to buy companies working in the IT support, IT MSP, Telecoms, VoIP, Cloud Hosting, Server Solutions and Cyber Security sectors.
