Engineering consultancy strengthens Structural design team during lockdown

Renowned engineering consultancy, M-EC, who celebrated its tenth anniversary at the turn of the year, has bolstered its structural design team with the appointment of experienced engineer, Mark Lusher as associate structural engineer.

With over 17 years’ experience on small and large-scale projects across a range of sectors in both the UK and Europe, Mark will bring his wealth of knowledge and project management skills to the M-EC team.

Managing Director of M-EC, Eddie Mewies, said: “Mark’s appointment is perfectly timed as the activity levels across the construction industry are starting to increase and new instructions are improving. We’re pleased to welcome Mark to the team and even more excited to meet him in person, once we reopen our offices over the summer.”

Mark’s experience has seen him work in Manchester and more recently in Nottingham, where he’s been the lead engineer on a number of high-profile residential, private rented, education, higher education, student accommodation, industrial and retail developments.

Mark added: “I’m delighted to be joining M-EC and I’m looking forward to helping develop the team further. This is the first role I’ve accepted without ever having met the team in person but the process has been thorough and I’m confident that M-EC and I are a good fit for each other.”

M-EC was launched by directors Eddie Mewies and Alexander Bennett at the turn of 2010 with 2020 being its eleventh year in business.

Having launched on the back of the 2008/09 recession, the company has seen significant growth during its first 10 years and has developed its service offering to meet the increasing demands of its clients, which include some of the UK’s largest housebuilders, property developers and land and planning agents.

Alex Bennett, director with M-EC added: “We’ve got a great team in place now and a loyal client base who have come to expect high standards of work from us. We launched the business as a result of the last recession and whilst we are back in a difficult period as a result of COVID-19, we are confident we can continue to grow the business.”
