Back to Business: Wellington Place Based Retailers Open Their Doors to the Public Again

Developer and Asset Manager, MEPC, has announced the “return plans” of retailers based at Wellington Place, after further lockdown measures were eased.

With many independents based at the development, it’s a fantastic step towards the return of the hospitality industry following the COVID-19 pandemic.

Opening plans have been scheduled over the next few months, with Wellington Place having first welcomed back a new-look Veeno, which has undergone a refurbishment during the break, followed by Hoist House, offering locals drinks, pizza and street food.

Indoor and outdoor drinking and dining space is offered by all of the restaurants, cafes and bars, many of which overlook the landscaped public realm surrounding Tower Square, making Wellington Place the ideal escape for those within the city centre.

Dominique Simcox, Head of Customer Experience at MEPC Wellington Place, said: “It is fantastic to see the retailer operators at Wellington Place open their doors again. With the inspiring outdoor spaces at Wellington Place, it’s the perfect location to spend some time whilst in the city centre and a great opportunity to support local independents during this difficult time.

“Each retailer will have their own precautions in place, following the Government guidelines on social distancing all created with the customers’ safety in mind – we are extremely excited to welcome back people to enjoy the fantastic food and drink on offer.”

Geoff Thornton, owner of Hoist House, added: “We’re incredibly excited about reopening our doors. We really hope people continue to share their support for independent retailers and help us through these challenging times. With plenty of safety precautions in place, the pub will remain a safe and welcoming space for customers to relax and enjoy and have a good time.”

To further support the retailers and to encourage local residents to make the most of the offering at Wellington Place, MEPC is also running a competition and sharing special offers. Keep your eyes peeled on the Wellington Place social channels for more information.
