Young Businessman Up For Major Franchising Award

In the five years of being a franchisee, Tom Mannion, franchise owner of one of X-Press Legal Services’ most successful offices, has built a hugely successful business.

Now, at just 28, Tom has been shortlisted in the Next Generation category at the bfa HSBC British Franchise Awards, taking place at the Vox, Birmingham, on November 30, open to any franchisee aged 35 and under.

Tom owns the X-Press Legal Services Central, South West, and North West London areas. The company provides property searches and reports for the conveyancing sector.

Tom Mannion, franchisee, commented:

“I was so surprised to have been put forward for the awards and to become a finalist is just so rewarding. These are the Oscars of the franchise industry which highlight the exceptional contribution franchise makes to the economy.”

Pip Wilkins QFP, CEO of the bfa, said:

“At the age of 28, Tom operates one of the most successful franchises in the network, taking over the franchise at just 23. He spotted an opportunity in the market for performing agricultural and landed estates searches which tend to be larger and more complicated, and this initiative is part of the reason his business is thriving.”

Andrew Brattesani, head of franchising at HSBC, added:

“Sharing his best practice with the wider network, and winning accolades with X-Press Legal Services and getting shortlisted for external ones, Tom has excelled as a local business owner and as a multi-unit franchisee.”

Tom will go head-to-head against four other franchisees in November.
