Coventry College confirms full re-opening in September amid high demand

Coventry College is ramping up its preparations for a full re-opening in September as demand for student places gathers pace.

The city’s leading further education provider - which accommodates around 8,000 students - has vowed to support as many students it would normally have done whilst adapting to social distancing guidelines.

It comes as the College has already had more than a thousand expressions of interest via its online open event website - in the absence of being able to host a physical open day.

Gemma Knott, Assistant Principal for Business Growth at Coventry College, said: “We have been overwhelmed by the level of interest we have received from our online open event - which has been averaging 50 enquiries a day after receiving 800 registrations during the first few days of the launch - so we’d urge students thinking of studying with us to start the enrolment process with us sooner rather than later.

“We understand that not everybody has access to the internet as freely as others, so if they aren’t able to complete the detailed enrolment process online, they can request to complete their enrolment over the telephone with our careers advisers by sending a quick email.

“The past few months have been challenging for everybody - and has seen some inspirational efforts by our teachers and students in continuing their studies from home, while also helping out in the local community.

“College staff have also been working hard behind the scenes to ensure that students can begin their studies in September as they usually would in a safe environment.

“More than ever though, all of the staff at Coventry College are looking forward to welcoming our new and existing students back so we can continue to help shape the future of this city’s next generation of talent.”
