Construction starts on second phase of North East housing development
Construction work is now underway on the second phase of homes at a new housing development in Hurworth.
Bellway, based in Durham, is building a range of 95 three, four and five-bedroom houses at Hurworth Gardens, off Roundhill Road, with 30 homes completed at the site so far.
The second phase of the development, comprising seven new properties and a new sales centre, will be released for sale in August.
Sales manager for Bellway Durham, Darren Pelusi, commented: “We’re really pleased with the response we’ve had to the first phase of Hurworth Gardens. It’s clear the choice of homes on offer really meets the needs of buyers in the area.
“The two showhomes we had open previously were bought within a week of them being released for sale, which is an indication of the strength of the housing market in Hurworth.
“In addition to that, Hurworth Gardens has some key features which buyers are looking for: it’s surrounded by open countryside, yet has excellent transport links, less than three miles from Darlington railway station on the East Coast Main Line, and just minutes from the A66.
“There is a wide range of people who have bought at the development so far, with many taking advantage of the government-backed Help to Buy equity loan scheme to climb on or up the property ladder.”
