Zerum Consult shows COVID resilience as two key hires announced Manchester-based property consultancy has maintained momentum throughout the enforced lockdown period, recruiting new members to its team, completing projects and announcing promotion in planning team Leading Project/Cost Management and Planning consultancy Zerum Consult has appointed Russell Wright-Turner and Alice Murphy to strengthen its growing cost consultancy division. Russell, who was previously at Davis Langdon and then AECOM, will head up the team to oversee delivery of the cost consultancy division for Zerum’s growing client base. Russell said: “This move is really exciting for me – the team has ambition, unrivalled experience and a reputation for quality delivery. “Zerum is known for providing first-class cost management services, with flexibility and clear communication from project inception to completion. I’m looking forward to continuing to grow and develop the offering, and to working with a truly fantastic roster of clients.” Russell has previously worked with clients including Schroders, Legal & General, Great Portland Estates, British Land on its Canada Water Masterplan, and with Sky on its Innovation Centre. Russell and Alice’s arrivals will take the company headcount to 30. Hopefully our clients agree that with the broad range of skill sets within the team we provide a robust and holistic service, giving the client the time and space to focus on successful implementation of their business plan and chasing down the next opportunity” Throughout the lockdown period, the Zerum team has continued to work on a diverse range of projects and has made significant progress with new applications and planning approvals. Mike Ralph, Partner at Zerum Planning said: “We have successfully maintained our normal working routines and as such haven’t seen any reduction in productivity. I’m pleased to share that we’ve been involved in a number of planning approvals in recent months – including several schemes in Liverpool such as Azure on Rose Place (280 Student Beds), and a residential development of around 450 units on Blackstock Street. “We’ve also gained approval for much-needed affordable housing developments in West Lancs and Sefton and most recently, a development of 2 Hotels totalling 255 beds on Duke Street in Liverpool. “As we continue to emerge out of lockdown, we are revisiting planned recruitment of additional graduate support in our offices in Manchester and Leeds.” Among other schemes, Zerum’s planning team has also been involved in securing approval for the UK’s largest electrolyser for hydrogen production, capable of producing enough fuel to power 500 buses per day. This slew of success has seen the division promote Matthew Dixon to Associate, as a recognition of his continued contribution and the continued expansion if its planning client base. Founded in 2014, Zerum provides multi-disciplinary consultancy services, including planning, project and development management and cost consultancy.
