Recruitment firm eyes future growth with refurbished office deal

A former leisure property in Newcastle has been transformed into modern office space and will now become the home of an international recruitment firm.

The 12,000 sq ft, ground floor space at City Quadrant, Westmorland Road, has been rented to recruitment company Samuel Knight on a 15-year lease, in a deal brokered by Newcastle-based commercial property firm Naylors Gavin Black.

The space has been refurbished by Ultimate Group, and now includes an indoor park, sports room and amphitheatre as well as training and social areas. Founders of Samuel Knight say their aim with the refurbishment was to provide new community and business space, and facilitate future growth.

Steven Rawlingson, founder and CEO of Samuel Knight International, commented: “A great deal of thought and consideration was put into the layout of our new headquarters and the finished product now provides the perfect platform for our expansion plans.

“Creating a great work environment was our top priority. From the outset we aimed to deliver a space that would become Samuel Knight’s ‘forever’ home, and I think we have certainly achieved that.

“We love what the location offers and our new headquarters more than quadruple the size of our previous office, giving us long term flexibility and opportunities for plans in the future.”

City Quadrant, originally developed in 2007, comprises a mix of residential, office and leisure accommodation providing a range of high quality serviced office suites which accommodate organisations such as Bank of England, Wardell Armstrong and Drayton Partners.
