BT launches new scheme to support SMEs with post COVID-19 growth
Telecoms firm BT Group has announced the launch of a new scheme to support UK SMEs to grow following the disruption caused by COVID-19.
The group’s Enterprise division has launched BT Small Business Support Scheme to support small businesses across the country that have been affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
The announcement came as the group released its results for the three months up to June 30, in which the group saw a revenue drop of 7 per cent.
The group has attributed the to the COVID-19 crisis, but remains confident in its ability to perform well throughout the rest of the year.
Philip Jansen, chief executive, commented: “Despite Covid-19, BT delivered a strong operating performance in the first quarter and delivered a relatively resilient set of financial results. We continue to invest in the long-term future of the business.
“Enterprise has today launched the BT Small Business Support Scheme, which will boost cash flow, connectivity and confidence among this critical segment of the economy over the coming months.
“Although uncertainties remain, we are now able to provide an outlook for this financial year. Beyond this year and based on current expectations, we expect to return the business to sustainable adjusted EBITDA growth, driven in part by the recovery from COVID-19.”
