West Midlands housebuilder appoints new land director
A regional housebuilder has appointed a new land director in a move that strengthens the West Midlands business. Nick Evans brings a wealth of experience with him to Persimmon Homes West Midlands as he takes on the role, heading up a talented team. The 57-year-old, who lives near Shrewsbury, has always worked in the property industry having owned and operated a residential estate agency in Telford for more than 25 years. For the past 20 years, he has specialised in new home sales, acquisition and the sale of development land, primarily residential. The father-of-two, has extensive experience of site acquisition, obtaining planning and liaising with retained consultants, lawyers, planning consultants, structural engineers, quantity surveyors, and build contractors. Nick, who is Shropshire born and bred, said: “For more nearly 30 years I worked for myself and have had a working relationship with Persimmon Homes West Midlands for many years. This eventually developed into a discussion about me joining the business to develop the land team. I wanted a new challenge and this kind of opportunity does not come around that often. “I have a lot of experience and have built up strong regional contacts, so I am enjoying channelling that knowledge to support a young, talented team who have a vast technical knowledge. I am looking forward to guiding them through their training and developing their skills as they are the future of the company. “I am not here to reinvent the wheel and we will continue the good practice that is here, but I hope to push it up another level. It is a very well-run business and I am enjoying making my contribution.” Stephen Cleveley, managing director of Persimmon Homes West Midlands, said: “I was delighted when Nick agreed to join us. Over many years he has been a great support to the business regarding Part Exchange and Land acquisition, his knowledge of our operating area is exactly what we need to help us deliver the vital land that is essential to help us maintain our strong market share in our operating area.” Persimmon Homes West Midlands builds across the West Midlands, Shropshire and Staffordshire and has developments in Wolverhampton, Shrewsbury, Penkridge. Norton Canes, Lawley, Telford, Newport, Hednesford and Stone.
