Pure Electric's newest store is in Holborn.

Micromobility retailer announces plans for European expansion as new London store opens

A UK micromobility retailer has announced that it has opened a new high street store in London.

Pure Electric, which recently acquired Cycle Republic, has opened its thirteenth high street store, on Southampton Row in Holborn.

It also announced plans to open several more stores across the country before the end of the year, as well as expansion into Europe.

Peter Kimberley, CEO of Pure Electric, commented: “We’re committed to becoming the leading micromobility retailer, not just in the UK but across Europe too.

“We’ll be opening several more UK stores before the end of this year and we’ve got our sights set on our European outlets too, starting in France and Spain.”

“This is such an exciting time in micromobility retail; we’re still just at the start of a revolution in our transport habits and the growth potential for the next few years is immense.”

“The government is getting behind this revolution, with bold plans for example on infrastructure and changes to the Highway Code, but more needs to be done.

“Electric scooters need to be legalised now; the country can’t wait another 12 months for the trials to end. We’d also like to see the Cycle to Work scheme promoted more actively.”
