London property developer completes "landmark" residential and commercial project

A London based property developer has completed construction on a “landmark” project near St Paul’s Cathedral.

Helical PLC has announced that its largest project to date, at Bart’s Square in London, has been completed.

The 3.2 acre cluster is comprised of 14 residential, commercial and retail buildings, providing 236 apartments and 10 restaurant and retail units.

The “landmark” development is located between the city and St Paul’s Cathedral, and saw Shepherd Robson working as the master architects.

Nikki Dibley, Helical’s development executive for Barts Square said: “This is the creation of a new urban quarter in an unrivalled location in the City of London, with historic awareness at the heart of the design.

“Rather than an additive approach, at Bart’s Square we wanted to create a tranquil enclave that seamlessly blends in, both paying respect to the culture and architecture of the City while creating a sense of community to gently grow up around it.

“We wanted to create a place that celebrated the cultural and community connections of the area, and an inviting and diverse space.

“The development has proven popular with a wide range of purchasers and we look forward to welcoming new residents and businesses alike, while also creating public realm engagement through art activations and placemaking unique to this area.”
