New diversity, inclusion and wellbeing consultancy launches to support businesses across the UK

SISU are passionate specialists who understand the importance of equity and pride themselves on their personal approach and creativity.

After a turbulent year, new consultancy, Sisu, launches this August to support businesses across the UK with their diversity, inclusion, and wellbeing, as people begin to return to work. SISU’s founders believe that this is a vital time to launch their new consultancy, following 2020’s economic and social hits including the UK withdrawing from the EU, the global Coronavirus pandemic and the Black Lives Matter movement. SISU believe that Diversity & Inclusion will be one of the critical differentiators in how companies weather this storm. The Black Lives Matter protests around the world highlighted the need for greater action on diversity and anti-racism. Those that have invested in developing inclusive leaders and cultures and building balanced leadership teams across their businesses will fare better than others in a challenging corporate climate. SISU believe that the question is how we return to work in our new normal with diversity at the forefront of our minds, in the post-COVID -19 workplace. The death of George Floyd, and following Black Lives Matter protests, means there really is no going back to the way things were. So much injustice has been brought to the surface across the world. Now we have to ask, “how do we change what we used to do for the best?” Employers must learn from the lessons to create a more inclusive environment and ensure longer-term workplace change. Passionate about people and the power of people; visionaries, Olajide Alabi and Louisa Davies, have launched a Diversity, Inclusion, and Wellbeing consultancy to ensure Equality, Inclusion and Diversity practices become second nature to businesses and their employees with dedicated guidance, training programmes and resourceful data packs based on a business’s specific needs. Olajide and Louisa created Sisu after deliberating various situations that they had either witnessed or personally experienced in the workplace. This led them to notice that many businesses have a lack of understanding as to what the power of diversity means and the positive effects it can have on output if it’s embraced, harnessed and developed. Advocacy alone will just not cut it. There needs to be comprehensive solutions, strategic action and key metrics implemented, this commitment needs to not just be from the senior stakeholders but throughout the whole supply chain. SISU was born from a true passion and belief that there can never be too many people fighting for equality, educating on inclusion and celebrating wellbeing in the workplace. Olajide said; “It is so important that companies represent the world they serve, especially now that businesses are shaping the world, we live in.” Louisa said; “Our aim as a business is to educate in an innovative and engaging way, to ensure a greater understanding of the subject matter. SISU aims to enlighten and enrich businesses with the ability to take these learnings and make the world a more inclusive place for all.”
SISU believe companies need to monitor diversity and inclusion as they would for any other key performance indicator in the business. One of SISU’s main objectives is to embed these practices. SISU plans on doing this by offering services including Unconscious Bias Workshops, Diversity & Inclusion Audits, evaluation of Communications Strategy, Disability Schemes and Audits, Training solutions, Wellbeing Awareness Training, advice on building Employee Networks and so much more. Sisu is not a momentary courage, but the ability to sustain that courage. Olajide & Louisa are dedicated to making a difference in the workplace for millions of people in the UK, to ensure that people like us feel comfortable, happy, valued and have a sense of belonging.
