Clerkenwell video game agency acquired by international group in £3.6m deal
A London video games creative marketing agency has been acquired by an international group in a multi-million pound deal.
Maverick Media Limited has been purchased for a total consideration of up to £3.6m by technical and creative services provider Keyword Studios.
Founded in 1995, Clerkenwell-based Maverick employs 16 staff and produces marketing campaigns and related services for a range of international games publishers, developers and brands.
Andrew Day, CEO of Keywords Studios commented: “We are delighted that Maverick and its talented team are joining Keywords Studios. Maverick is a strong brand with a 25 year body of work in servicing video games publishers and developers and has grown successfully with the industry.
“We are excited about the expertise that Maverick will bring to our wider marketing business and ultimately to our client base across the group.”
The deal is the latest for Keywords Studios as part of an ongoing acquisition strategy. Andrew explained: “This is the second acquisition to complete following our recent £100m placing.
“We have a healthy pipeline of further acquisition opportunities which we are reviewing and advancing.”
