Tees Valley security firm expands into new training facility at £22.5m tech park
A Teesside-headquartered security park is expanding operations with the launch of a new office and training facility.
Close Protection Security has opened its new base at the £22.5m TeesAMP technology park.
Established Glenn Bartlett in March 2017, Close Protection Security now employs more than 70 staff and has secured contracts with local businesses such as Middlesbrough FC, Psyche, AV Dawson and Teesside International Airport.
Tees Valley Mayor Ben Houchen commented: “I’m delighted to see another local business, growing rapidly and delivering a fantastic service and product to other high-profile local businesses.
“This new facility is superb and a brilliant example of a business within Teesside, Darlington and Hartlepool succeeding and growing through innovation and ambition.
“Glenn is a prime example to be able to inspire others. This new training facility, in partnership with Middlesbrough College, will be of huge benefit to the region delivering close protection and security accreditation to meet the growing demands for such jobs.”
Glenn Bartlett, Close Protection Security managing director, added: “I’m delighted that Ben took time out to come and open our superb new facility here at TeesAMP. Close Protection Security are growing from strength to strength and that is in part down to the many new opportunities that are arising here in Tees Valley.
“We’ve been fortunate to win some great contracts at the likes of Teesside Airport, AV Dawson and to supply brand ambassadors to help launch the UK’s first e-scooters.
“We’re really excited for our future, working with Middlesbrough College, to get our first cohort of students through our doors and to keep raising the standards of security for Tees Valley and beyond.”
