Newcastle pub group acquires Lake District site in multi-million pound deal
A North East pub group has announced that it has completed the acquisition of a fifth site in the Lake District.
The Inn Collection Group, based in Newcastle, has increased its pubs with rooms portfolio to 15 with its purchase of Churchill Inn in Ambleside.
The acquisition was a multi-million pound deal, and marks the company’s second venue in the town.
The group is planning a “major redevelopment” of the pub, set to take place later this year.
Sean Donkin, managing director, commented: “We are delighted to have added a second Ambleside site to our estate.
“We’re looking forward to unlocking the venue’s full potential and investing in what will be a valuable new addition for locals and visitors to the Lake District here in Ambleside as we continue to grow our customer base and group foothold across the north of England.”
The group’s trading portfolio also includes sites in Northumberland, County Durham and Yorkshire.
The Inn Collection Group was advised by Newcastle law firm Ward Hadaway on the transactions, with Bradley Hall on pre-acquisition diligence.
