Soft drinks firm to scale up operations with new Sunderland facility
A Sunderland-based soft drinks manufacturer has unveiled plans for a new canning facility at its headquarters.
Clearly Drinks has announced its intention to invest in the new facility, which is expected to be up and running from March next year.
The firm, which was originally established in 1885, has secured ‘substantial’ investment from existing investor and private equity specialist NorthEdge for the expansion of its site.
Mick Howard, chief executive officer at Clearly Drinks, commented: “Securing this investment with NorthEdge for our new can facility here at our Clearly Drinks factory in Sunderland allows us to diversify our offering and develop our product lines.
“We’ll start production with our popular consumer brand Upstream immediately and the machinery’s speed and efficiency will allow us to manufacture other contract pack products and develop further opportunities with other brands which we’ll announce in due course.”
