Leeds architect expands national footprint with new £1.8m town centre project

A Yorkshire-based architectural practice is expanding outside of the region with a new £1.8m aparthotel development in the North West.

PDG Architectural has secured planning permission for the new hospitality scheme in Warrington town centre.

Under the new plans, the Killingbeck Office Village-based firm will transform a Grade II listed former post office on Palmyra Square into 21 hotel-style apartments.

The ground floor of the town centre site will remain as commercial space for bars and restaurants.

The scheme is a joint venture between property developer Nathan Priestley with Priestley homes (Priestley Group) in partnership with property firm Immedi-Let.

Andy Pickup, managing director of PDG Architectural, commented: “Working closely with the planning authority from the outset has been invaluable in securing planning approval.

“As designers, we want to see the creation of top quality, impactful projects that will leave a long-lasting legacy. This one will undoubtedly have a positive impact on the regeneration of an important town centre.”
