North East flooring retailer opens second London store as part of "very rapid" growth plans
A North East flooring retailer has announced that it is opening its second London store this weekend.
Flooring Superstore, which is based in County Durham, is investing £150k in the new Croydon store, which will create four jobs and marks the chain’s 21st location.
The new store will open tomorrow (19 September) and comes less than a month after the unveiling of Flooring Superstore’s first London outlet, which opened in Brent Cross in August.
The 4,355 sq ft shop is in The IO Centre on Croydon Road.
Ian Robinson, regional manager of Flooring Superstore, commented: “We are delighted to have been able to choose Croydon as the location for our newest store and to be opening so soon after we welcomed shoppers in North London.
“It’s a bit like buses; you wait a while for one and then two arrive at the same time!
“We’ve been growing at a very rapid rate, with plans to open more stores in the rest of 2020 and into 2021.
“Having a presence in the capital has always been a long-term goal, so it’s a significant milestone to now have two stores in London, and hopefully more to come in the future.”
